Welcome to this week’s e-news.

On Friday evening Leanne and I attended the CECA North East Annual Dinner at the Newcastle Marriott Gosforth Park Hotel. Congratulations goes to those winners and we would both like to thank Chris Dancer, Chair of CECA North East and the CECA Members and staff for a wonderful evening.

This week we have been quite busy attending events, on Tuesday we attended the CECA North East and Watson Burton morning breakfast briefing on Tales from the Court Room. This was the last one in 2015 and the calendar will resume again in January 2016. On Wednesday morning Tim Bailey of xsite Architecture and who is on the RIBA Council delivered the RIBA Plan of Work and 8 tips on how it makes business sense. This was a great presentation and we would like to thank Tim for his this and Ward Hadaway for hosting the event.

This morning we supported the Armed Forces Employability Pathway at Catterick Garrison and it was great to see so many employers there to support this excellent programme. We got to see first hand what the programme entails and meet some of the candidates who showed us examples of the work they are being involved in.

Next week I am in London on Tuesday with my colleagues from Constructing Excellence to discuss the calendar of events, Membership activity and the Awards for 2016.

On Thursday we are holding the ‘Restoring a Past…..Preserving a Future’ seminar in conjunction with Quadriga. There are still places available if you wish to attend and details of this are below.

We are currently in the process of our schedule of events for 2016 and if you have any suggestions of what you would like to see please contact Leanne with your ideas.

We are delighted to announce Muckle LLP, FaulknerBrowns Architects are kindly sponsoring the CENE 2016 Awards. We have one category left to sponsor, so if you would like further details please contact us to discuss the opportunity available.
