Speed mentoring is a light-hearted approach to mentoring and a bit like speed dating! It is a managed event where you will spend 10 minutes with a number of industry experts. During this time you will have the opportunity to talk to your mentor about a challenge, an issue or seek advice about your career path. It provides an opportunity to be with well-regarded and well-respected professionals and to gain knowledge from a cross-sector group of industry leaders. There will also be an opportunity to network after the mentoring sessions.
The aim of this event is to provide professionals in the early stages of their career with an opportunity to learn from those who have considerable experience which they are keen to share. Some of the mentors we have attending so far include:
Andrew Tewkesbury – Associate at Arcadis
John Nielsen – Director at CK21
Paul Young – Operations Manager at Engie
Brian Clennell – Regional Director at Faithful+Gould
Chris Pugh – Senior Associate at FaulknerBrowns Architects
John Cartwright – Head of the School of Construction & Building Services at Hartlepool College
Marcus Foster – Operations Director at JN Bentley
Gary Dobson – Area Operations Manager at Kier Construction
Lee Kirk – Operations Manager at Metnor Construction
Tom Warburton – Director of Investment and Development at Newcastle City Council
Malcolm Shiels – Associate Director at Summers Inman

The objectives of this event are:
– To encourage the transfer knowledge from generation to generation
