JCT 2024: What you need to know

In April 2024, JCT launched its 2024 edition of contracts, which focused on modernising and streamlining, legislative compliance and future-proofing.

In this training, experts from our construction team will discuss the changes, assess their implications, and offer advice on drafting approaches and solutions.

Why attend?

JCT contracts are the most widely used form of contract in the construction industry, and this is the first major update since 2016. Those attending will understand the approach the JCT is taking towards key industry developments such as in relation to:

  • The Building Safety Act and Higher-Risk Buildings.
  • The introduction of the new Principal Designer and Principal Contractor roles according to the Building Regulations.
  • Ground conditions.
  • Relevant Events and Relevant Matters.
  • Professional Indemnity Insurance.

Who should attend?

The session is essential to anyone who uses building contracts, but it will be particularly relevant to developers, contractors, project management, funders and quantity surveying organisations.
