Strawberry Lane Site Visit

BAM is constructing a new head office building for Home Group in Newcastle City Centre. Home Group is one of the UK’s largest providers of social housing and their purpose-built HQ is being delivered by developers Ask Real Estate. The property is to comprise of a high quality Grade (A) office building arranged over lower ground, ground and five upper floors providing 70,907 (sqft) of office and ancillary space.

Some Facts:

292 CFA piles, 19 of those within 3m of underground NEXUS Metro tunnels. Each NEXUS pile took 4 concrete wagons to fill.

• The site sits above the underground NEXUS tunnels which took BAM 9 months of work before NEXUS would approve our building works.

• Over 5048 cube of spoil removed which = 631 truck loads!

• Some of the deepest CFA piles in the UK at around 28m deep

• Over 800 tonnes of steelwork up so far.
