OneVoice+ Continuing the Conversation

Following on from the OneVoice, North East England Construction Summit we will be continuing the conversations with a series of meetings focusing on the OneVoice themes of Climate Emergency, Value over Cost and People.
Over the next three months, the One Voice Plus virtual events will identify a way forward and build commitment across the North East construction industry to drive change.
Having discussed many of the issues challenging the sector and sharing what good practice is going on around the region, the next steps at the second OneVoice+ events is to develop the necessary actions for the North East England construction industry address in the updated OneVoice Action Plan. Once we have identified the actions we will be understanding the commitments we require from the industry and our stakeholders to make the actions happen.

Since the North East Construction Summit in 2019, Constructing Excellence North East have been working with Construction Industry Council North East (CIC NE), Construction Alliance Northeast (CAN) and in consultation with the region’s construction industry, to develop a North East England Construction Strategy.
One Voice, the North East England Construction Strategy 2020-2025 was launched today, 22nd April 2020. Over 80 organisations have contributed to the strategy and the supporting action plan which sets out the key themes and activity the regional construction industry is committed to in order to move forward together. At this point in time especially, we need to adapt to ever changing circumstances and continually develop ourselves. This strategy and its associated action plan is an opportunity for our region to lead the way.
One Voice Strategy
One Voice Action Plan
The 22nd April was always the planned launch date and whilst we may not be coming together today, we are still able to release the document and progress the next phase of work. Over the coming months we are planning a series of webinars, exploring the key themes of People, a United Industry, Value over Cost and Our Future and associated publicity activity. In addition we are seeking commitment from the region’s industry and stakeholders to engage with the strategy and identify actions they are able to support.
One Voice will be the theme of the 2020 North East Construction Summit and the Action Plan will be reviewed and updated considering the changing times we find ourselves in.
